Police arrested 16 suspects, including two alleged marijuana dealers, during a district-wide crackdown against drug traffickers and recovered narcotics, liquor and an illegal weapon from their possession, officials said on Tuesday
SANGHAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Police arrested 16 suspects, including two alleged marijuana dealers, during a district-wide crackdown against drug traffickers and recovered narcotics, liquor and an illegal weapon from their possession, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, 1,680 grams of hashish, thousands of sachets of gutka and liquor were seized in separate operations carried out in different parts of the district.
In Khipro, SHO Mohammad Sharif Jamali arrested absconding suspect Ali Khan Ronjho, who was wanted in multiple cases registered under Sections 337 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code, Section 3/4 of the Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order and the Control of Narcotic Substances laws. Police claimed to have recovered 1,100 grams of hashish from his possession and registered a fresh case against him under the narcotics law.
In another operation, police arrested absconder Lal Chand Kolhi, wanted in a theft case registered under Section 380 PPC.
Meanwhile, Sanghar SHO Gulzar Ali Mari arrested a suspect identified as Adnan Jatt during patrol duty and recovered an illegal TT pistol from him.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>In Tando Adam, SHO Mohammad Hanif Mehr arrested alleged drug dealers Wasim Ahmed Rajput and Mohammad Talha Chishti and recovered 1,650 sachets of gutka from their possession. In a separate raid, another suspect, Hussain, was arrested with 580 gutka sachets.
In Shahpur Chakar, police arrested Farhan Kario and recovered 402 gutka sachets.
B-Section police arrested Faizan Khaskheli, Saddam Khaskheli and Hashim, recovering 275 gutka sachets from them.
In Kahi, police arrested Aarb Khaskheli and seized 60 litres of liquor, while in Jam Nawaz Ali, police recovered 225 gutka sachets during action against Hakeem Khaskheli and Soof Khaskheli.
In Sinjhoro, police recovered 220 gutka sachets from Dilshair Rajput.
In Shahdadpur, police arrested Ali Raza Laghari and recovered 10 litres of liquor from him, while another suspect, Moharram Ali, was found in possession of 150 gutka sachets.
Police officials said the crackdown against narcotics dealers and illegal activities would continue across the district.
