ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) foiled an attempt to supply unhealthy meat to the public by seizing and destroying a large quantity of spoiled meat during a joint operation near Jand in the district , the officials sources said on Thursday.

According to authorities, the action was carried out at the Khushal Garh highway check post after police alerted the food safety team about a passenger bus transporting suspected meat from Gujranwala to Kohat under highly unhygienic conditions.

A food safety team, accompanied by livestock officials and the local administration, inspected the vehicle and discovered around 16.4 maunds of meat stored in 10 blue chemical drums without any cold-chain facility.

The 0fficials said the meat was found to be rotten, contaminated and unfit for human consumption.
