On 15 Ramadan 1447 (March 5, 2026), Pakistan and global Muslim communities celebrate the Wiladat of Imam Hasan (AS). This day honors the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), remembered for generosity, peace, and patience. Communities hold Majalis, offer prayers, and perform charity in his name during Ramadan 2026.

Today marks 15 Ramadan 1447 AH, which falls on March 5, 2026 in Karachi and across Pakistan. Muslims observe the birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hasan ibn Ali (AS), known as Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (AS).

Imam Hasan (AS) entered the world in Medina in 3 AH (around 625 CE). He was the elder son of Imam Ali (AS) and Bibi Fatimah (AS). The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) named him Hasan. The Prophet (PBUH) loved him deeply and called him a leader of the youth of Paradise.

Muslims mark his Wiladat on 15 Ramadan. They recall his titles: al-Mujtaba (the Chosen One) and Sayyid Shabāb Ahl al-Jannah. He showed unmatched generosity. He gave away his possessions, even his shoes, to those in need. He chose peace over conflict.

After Imam Ali’s (AS) martyrdom in 40 AH, Imam Hasan (AS) became the second Imam. He served as caliph for about six months in 661 CE. He signed a peace treaty with Muawiya to stop bloodshed and protect the Ummah.

Imam Hasan (AS) faced martyrdom by poisoning in 50 AH at age 47. He rests in Jannat al-Baqi, Medina. This 15 Ramadan brings blessings of peace and generosity. Ya Imam Hasan (AS).
