KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) In a landmark initiative to support children with hearing impairments, 14 special children at the Special Education Center Kabirwala were provided with high-quality hearing aids worth Rs 62,000 each. Every child received a complete pair to enhance their daily life and social interaction.
The distribution ceremony was led by Deputy Commissioner Khanewal, Maliha Rashid, under the special guidance of Commissioner Multan Division, Aamir Kareem Khan. The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner Kabirwala Rana Aamir Liaqat, officials from the Special Education Department, teachers, and parents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid emphasized that special children possess the same potential as any other child and deserve full attention and support. She added that the hearing aids would significantly improve their communication, education, and overall quality of life.
She also announced that hearing-impaired children in other tehsils of the district would soon receive hearing aids as part of the ongoing initiative. Special education schools across the district are being given focused attention to ensure better facilities and learning opportunities for differently-abled students.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to empowering special children, helping them integrate more confidently into society,” said the Deputy Commissioner. She further thanked the parents, teachers, and the administration team for their dedicated support in making the project a success.
The program underscores the district administration’s efforts to provide meaningful assistance to special children, giving them the tools to more independent lives.
