ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) 492 shops and hotels Saturday inspected while 14 outlets sealed, 6 shopkeepers arrested, and Rs79,000 fines imposed for violations of the official price list and hygiene rules in district Abbottabad.
According to the district administration, the actions were carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram under the provincial government Good Governance Roadmap. Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad, Additional Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates including the Tehsildars of Abbottabad, Havelian, SDC, Land Acquisition, Lower Tanawal and Lora conducted inspections across the district to ensure the availability of quality food items at government-approved prices.
Officials also took action on complaints received through the Price Monitoring Desk, while strict checks were carried out against substandard items and the use of unhygienic cooking oil at hotels and food outlets.
The district administration urged citizens to report violations of the official price list to the District Control Room at 0992-9310553 or through WhatsApp at 0335-5851233 for prompt action.
