13-year-old motorcyclist killed in road accident

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) A 13-year-old boy was killed and another child was injured after their motorcycle collided with a Qingqi rickshaw on Chandrai Road in the Gawala Colony area on Sunday.

According to City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) spokesperson, the deceased was identified as Ramzan, 13, while the injured child was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The body was also moved to the hospital to complete legal formalities.

The spokesperson said the underage rider, allegedly speeding, rammed the motorcycle into the rear of a moving Qingqi rickshaw. The impact caused the motorcycle to lose control and plunge into a roadside drain.

The CTPL spokesperson added the Qingqi rickshaw driver fled the scene, while police impounded the vehicle and initiated legal proceedings.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi expressed grief over the incident and urged parents not to allow underage children to drive motorcycles or other vehicles. He said underage driving, overspeeding and negligent behaviour continued to claim precious lives and stressed the need for strict adherence to traffic laws to prevent such tragedies.
