13 trucks seized over illegal wheat transportation

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The district administration and food department launched a crackdown against the illegal transportation of wheat in the district and seized 13 trucks loaded with thousands of wheat bags on Tuesday.

According to District Food Controller Adil Abbas, seven trucks carrying wheat bags were taken into custody in Sialkot tehsil, while six trucks were seized in Pasrur tehsil during separate operations conducted with the assistance of the local administration.

He stated that the operations in Sialkot were conducted in the Kingra Road and Ban Phatak areas, in the presence of local administration officials.

The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts by the Punjab government to restrain the illegal movement and smuggling of wheat across the province and to ensure the availability of the commodity in local markets.
