12 suspect arrested, drug, liquor, weapons recovered

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2026) The Bahawalpur police arrested 12 suspects during last 24 hours crackdown, and recovered drugs, liquor, and illegal weapons from them.

According to a spokesman, the district police carried out a series of operations over the past 24 hours, arresting 12 suspects and recovering narcotics, illicit liquor, and illegal firearms from their possession. Narrating the details, he said that the police from Kotwali Police Station, Abbas Nagar Police Station, Dera Nawab Sahib Police Station, Dhor Kot Police Station, and Derawar Police Station launched a crackdown against illegal liquor sellers, arresting seven suspects and recovering 150 liters of illicit liquor.

He further said that in a separate operation, Chani Goth Police Station arrested one suspect involved in drug trafficking and recovered 2 kilograms and 400 grams of hashish from his possession, adding that police from Kotwali Police Station, Sadr Bahawalpur Police Station, and Chani Goth Police Station also arrested four suspects for possessing illegal firearms. During the operation, police recovered four .30-bore pistols from their possession. Separate cases have been registered against all the arrested suspects, and further investigations are underway.
