105kg dead chicken seized, supplier arrested

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 105 kilograms of dead chicken and got a supplier arrested during a raid in tehsil Karor Lal Esan.

According to the spokesman of the Punjab Food Authority South Punjab, a food safety team intercepted a loader rickshaw loaded with dead chickens near Karor Lal Esan police station in district Layyah.

The team recovered around 105kg of dead chickens from the vehicle and later disposed of the meat at a dumping site to prevent its possible sale in the market.

On the request of the Punjab Food Authority, police at Karor Lal Esan police station registered a case against the supplier and arrested the accused.

The spokesman said a veterinary doctor examined the recovered meat and declared the foul-smelling dead chicken extremely hazardous for human consumption.

He added that action was also being taken against food outlets allegedly involved in purchasing such meat, while operations against those endangering public health were continuing across Punjab.
