RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2026) The Potohar Division Police, in a crackdown on street crime since January 1, have apprehended 105 suspects from 48 gangs involved in dacoity, robbery, snatching, motorcycle theft, rickshaw theft and housebreaking, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Friday.
Police seized 74 motorcycles, three loader rickshaws, 34 mobile phones, a laptop, stolen cash worth Rs1.832 million and weapons from the arrested suspects.
According to the spokesman, the Cantt Police nabbed nine suspects from four gangs and retrieved 10 stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, a laptop and Rs446,500.
The Westridge Police rounded up 16 suspects from eight gangs and secured seven stolen motorcycles, seven mobile phones, Rs328,800 and weapons.
The Naseerabad Police arrested 15 suspects from six gangs and recovered 11 stolen motorcycles, three other vehicles, Rs136,500 and weapons.
The RA Bazar Police apprehended 11 suspects from five gangs and seized six stolen motorcycles, 10 mobile phones, Rs124,000 and weapons.
The Race Course Police held 10 suspects from four gangs and retrieved 11 stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, Rs151,000 and weapons.
The Civil Lines Police arrested four suspects from two gangs and recovered four stolen motorcycles and Rs18,000.
The Chaklala Police nabbed 11 suspects from five gangs and secured eight stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, Rs83,700 and weapons.
The Morgah Police apprehended six suspects from three gangs and recovered three stolen motorcycles, five mobile phones and Rs39,000.
The Taxila Police arrested seven suspects from three gangs and seized two stolen motorcycles, two mobile phones, Rs31,000 and weapons.
The Wah Cantt Police rounded up 10 suspects from five gangs and recovered 10 stolen motorcycles, two mobile phones, Rs303,000 and weapons.
The Wah Saddar Police apprehended six suspects from three gangs and retrieved two stolen motorcycles, five mobile phones, Rs170,500 and weapons.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said the detained suspects would be challaned before the court with solid evidence. He added that those targeting the lives and property of citizens could not escape the clutches of the law.
