FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that rehabilitation and landscaping of 1.8 kilometer (km) long green belt on Susan Road is in full swing to transform it into an attractive and aesthetically pleasing urban space in the heart of the city.
He said that this project is being executed under the supervision of divisional administration under beautification program of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz while comprehensive horticultural work is underway to enhance visual appeal of the green belt.
He said that this plan included the installation of carpet grass, plantation of trees and ornamental plants as well as placement of decorative models to create a vibrant and eye-catching landscape for residents and commuters.
He visited Susan Road green belt and reviewed the progress of ongoing work being carried out by Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA).
He stressed the need to expedite horticulture activities to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining quality standards.
He said that responsibilities for maintenance of the green belt should be assigned to the business community along with local residents.
Such collaborative efforts would help preserve the unique and refreshing outlook of the centrally located green belt and ensure its long-term sustainability, he added.
Raja Jahangir Anwar said that PHA is being facilitated with necessary resources and support by the Municipal Corporation to carry forward beautification initiatives effectively.
He highlighted that alongside equipping parks across the city with improved facilities, focused attention is also being given to the restoration and maintenance of green belts.
All available resources are being utilized to provide clean, green and visually appealing environment in line with the provincial government’s commitment to urban uplift and environmental sustainability, he added.
