HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) The district administration has continued its crackdown against profiteers on the directives of the deputy commissioner Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, to ensure the availability of essential food items at affordable prices across Hyderabad during the holy month of Ramazan.

According to a handout issued on Wednesday, from February 18 to February 24, a total of 1,251 inspections were carried out under the price control campaign. During the drive, 647 violations were identified, of which legal action was taken against 363 cases, while 284 shopkeepers were issued warnings.

A total fine of Rs1,288,500 was imposed during the week-long operation.

Meanwhile, three shops/marts and four restaurants/hotels were also sealed for overcharging and violating the officially notified price lists.

The deputy commissioner made it clear that provision of relief to the public during Ramazan would be ensured at all costs and that profiteering would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
