1,121 candidates to take entry test for MPhil, PhD programs in SU

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) The University of Sindh (SU) will conduct its pre-entry test for admissions to Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the academic session 2026 on May 3.

The SU's spokesman Nadir Mugheri informed here on Saturday the arrangements had been finalized by the Sindh University Testing Centre (SUTC). Quoting the SUTC's Director Dr Aftab Chandio, he apprised that a total of 1,121 candidates were set to appear in the test, including 897 applicants for MPhil and 224 for PhD programmes across various disciplines.

Three examination venues had been designated to facilitate the candidates, he added.

 He told that the Institute of Commerce and Management would host applicants from the disciplines of Commerce, business Administration, English and Environmental Science, with 270 candidates of both MPhil and PhD scheduled to appear at the centre.

Likewise, he added, the Institute of Physics had been allocated for candidates of Physics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Botany and Chemistry, with seats for 272 MPhil and PhD candidates.

All the candidates for the remaining disciplines would be seated at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science.
