US president says thousands more will follow immediately if the Iranian government or its agents carried out any assassination attempt against the sitting US president
WASHINGTON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 11th, 2026) US President Donald Trump on Friday issued a stern warning to Iran, threatening an overwhelming military response if Tehran attempts to assassinate him.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that "1,000 missiles are locked and loaded" and aimed at Iran, adding that thousands more would follow immediately if the Iranian government or its agents carried out any assassination attempt against the sitting US president.
Trump further asserted that military orders had already been issued and claimed the US armed forces were prepared to launch extensive strikes against Iran if such a scenario unfolded. He said the military was "ready, willing and able" to carry out the operation if required.

The warning comes despite continued diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran. Earlier, Trump had declared that a ceasefire with Iran was effectively over, but later confirmed that the United States had agreed to continue negotiations after what he described as a request from Tehran.
The renewed tensions follow reports that US intelligence officials had been informed by Israel of an alleged Iranian plan targeting Trump.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Iran has repeatedly denied involvement in any plot against the US president.
The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in June under Pakistani mediation aimed at ending months of hostilities and laying the groundwork for a broader peace agreement. The understanding included provisions for an immediate halt to fighting, the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iran and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping.
However, tensions have escalated again in recent days after both sides accused each other of violating the understanding. The United States carried out strikes on targets inside Iran, while Tehran responded by targeting US assets in the region, raising concerns over renewed instability in the middle East.
The latest exchange of threats has intensified fears of further escalation, even as diplomatic efforts to preserve dialogue continue. Regional and international observers have urged both sides to exercise restraint and pursue negotiations to prevent the conflict from widening.
