MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) The Department of Computer Science at Women University Multan (WUM) organised Tech Expo 2026 at Jinnah Hall, Katchehri Campus, showcasing final-year projects developed by students in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, web and mobile development, embedded systems, and data science.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syeda Shahida Batool, the chief guest, visited the stalls and commended students for their technical skills and innovative thinking. Addressing the gathering, she said women's role in modern technology had become increasingly vital and the university was providing students with both quality education and practical skills. She urged students to actively pursue research and innovation in AI and emerging technologies to contribute to national development.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and IT, Dr Khadija Kanwal, said the expo aimed to align students with industrial and technical demands while showcasing their creativity and research aptitude. Registrar Dr Diba also praised the department for organising the event.
The expo drew participation from several regional universities including NCBA&E, NUML, Bahauddin Zakariya University, MNS-UET, and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan. A total of 42 projects were displayed. The Vice Chancellor distributed certificates of appreciation among students whose projects stood out at the event.
