Tank DPO engages Sunni elders, traders to ensure peaceful conduct of Muharram

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Tank, Abdul Samad Khan, held a meeting with Sunni community elders, representatives of the traders’ association, and police officials to discuss security and administrative arrangements for the peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The meeting focused on maintaining law and order during Muharram, strengthening security measures in marketplaces, ensuring smooth traffic flow, enforcing the code of conduct, and facilitating public convenience. The participants exchanged views on strategies to promote peace and prevent any untoward incidents during the holy month.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Abdul Samad Khan emphasized the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in fostering peace, religious harmony, and brotherhood. He urged community leaders and traders to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the police. He added that comprehensive security measures were being put in place to safeguard the lives and property of citizens throughout Muharram.

The participants assured the police of their full cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to working together to ensure the peaceful and orderly observance of Muharram-ul-Haram across the district.
