SSP Qazi meets procession organizers, peace committees on Muharram security

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza held an important meeting with organizers of Muharram processions and Majalis, procession commanders and representatives of peace committees to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

An official told APP on Monday that SSP Security Operations Suleman Zafar and ADCG Sahibzada Muhammad Yousaf also attended the meeting, which focused on ensuring peaceful observance of Muharram across the Federal capital.

SP Headquarters Pari Gul Tareen, zonal SPs and other senior police officers were also present during the meeting.

According to the official, participants reviewed security arrangements, traffic management plans, route clearance measures and inter-agency coordination mechanisms for Muharram processions and religious gatherings.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for organizers, procession commanders and peace committee representatives to share their views and discuss issues related to security and facilitation.

SSP Qazi said Islamabad Police was fully committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring protection of citizens throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.

He emphasized that all available resources would be utilized to provide a secure and peaceful environment for mourners and the general public during the holy month.
