FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira has intensified the accountability process within the police department by dismissing an SHO from service and awarding disciplinary punishments to several police officers during an orderly room held to review more than 100 show-cause notices issued to police personnel across the region.
According to police spokesman Rizwan Bhatti, the RPO presided over the orderly room at the Police Lines Complex, where he personally heard the cases involving more than 100 police officers and officials from different districts of Faisalabad region.
The proceedings focused on allegations of corruption, poor performance, abuse of powers, negligence and dereliction of duty.
Following the hearings, Sub Inspector (SI) Tariq Mahmood Naz SHO Mamonkanjan police station was dismissed from service while Sub Inspector Mohsin Abbas SHO Lundianwala police station was handed down with forfeiture of one year of service.
Similarly, Sub Inspector Sajid Mahmood SHO Nishatabad police station and Sub Inspector Adnan Mirza Incharge Investigation City Jaranwala police station were penalized each with forfeiture of two years of service.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Office Superintendent Jhang Assistant Gohar was also punished with the stoppage of one annual promotion for showing lack of interest in official duties and administrative affairs.
The police spokesman said that show-cause notices issued to police personnel who had previously served in the CIA wing were filed after their replies were found satisfactory.
Speaking on the occasion, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira said that the police department would continue to encourage the officers demonstrating outstanding performance while maintaining a strict process of self-accountability against those bringing disrepute to the force.
He warned that corrupt, incompetent and irresponsible officials, as well as those abusing their powers or remaining absent from duty, should mend their ways, as no leniency would be shown in the matters affecting public trust and institutional integrity.
