Rescue 1122 conducts third pre-flood mock exercise on River Chenab

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Rescue 1122 Multan conducted its third large-scale pre-flood mock exercise at Head Muhammad Wala Bridge on River Chenab to assess flood emergency preparedness and inter-agency coordination.

The two-day exercise, held under the directions of the Punjab Government, PDMA, and Emergency Services Department, involved the district administration, Rescue 1122, Pakistan Army, PDMA, Health Department, Civil Defence, Livestock Department, Safe City, and other relevant agencies.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique inspected the arrangements and praised the preparedness of Rescue 1122 and participating departments.

Rescuers demonstrated boat evacuations, first aid, victim transportation, swimming-based rescues, and drowning response operations. Day and night water rescue drills were also conducted.

District Emergency Officer Dr Hussain Mian said the exercise aimed to strengthen coordination, test resources, and ensure timely response to any flood emergency, adding that Rescue 1122 Multan remains fully prepared for potential flood situations.
