Rawalpindi Police have organized a training session for scouts (volunteers) at Police Lines Headquarters in connection with security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, aimed at enhancing preparedness and ensuring effective security during religious gatherings and processions

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Rawalpindi Police have organized a training session for scouts (volunteers) at Police Lines Headquarters in connection with security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, aimed at enhancing preparedness and ensuring effective security during religious gatherings and processions.

The training session was conducted by officials from the Security Branch, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Rescue 1122, Bomb Disposal Squad, Special Branch, Elite Force and Security Division. DSP Security also supervised the programme.

During the training, volunteers were briefed on security protocols, including the search and monitoring of participants attending Majalis and Muharram processions.

The instructors provided detailed guidelines on maintaining vigilance and assisting law enforcement personnel in implementing security measures.

Scouts were also trained in basic first aid and emergency response procedures to enable them to provide immediate assistance in case of any untoward incident or emergency situation during Muharram.

Police officials emphasized the importance of coordination between volunteers and law enforcement agencies to ensure a peaceful environment during the holy month.

They said that comprehensive measures are being taken to guarantee foolproof security arrangements for Majalis and processions across the district.

The training programme forms part of the broader security plan aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram.
