Rawalpindi administration reviews Muharram security arrangements in meeting with procession license holders

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Maliha Sehar reviewed security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram with license holders of mourning processions in a meeting held here on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by officials from relevant departments, law enforcement agencies, and organizers of Muharram processions.

Participants discussed in detail the security plan, maintenance of law and order, designated procession routes, timings, and the implementation of the official code of conduct during Muharram.

Speaking on the occasion, Maliha Sehar said that the district administration, police, and other concerned institutions are working in close coordination to ensure comprehensive arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

She emphasized that all possible measures are being taken to provide mourners with a safe, secure, and peaceful environment.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner urged procession organizers and license holders to strictly adhere to approved routes and schedules, ensure full compliance with the code of conduct, and maintain constant coordination with the administration throughout the month.

She further stated that through mutual cooperation, harmony, and understanding, the sacred days of Muharram can be observed with religious devotion, respect, and peace.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the license holders assured the district administration of their full cooperation and pledged to play an active role in maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
