Police probe suspected poisoning of buffaloes worth Rs1.5 mln in Layyah

LAYYAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Two buffaloes worth over Rs 1.5 million rupees reportedly died after being poisoned in Chak no. 464 TDA near Dhori Adda in Layyah, according to police sources on Sunday.

Farmer Shabbir Sheikh said the animals, which were tied outside his house in a shaded area, have been deliberately poisoned or fed a toxic substance by unknown persons.

Following the incident, a team from the Livestock Department collected samples for laboratory analysis, while local police visited the scene and initiated an inquiry.

Police officials said further action will be taken after the laboratory report is received.
