PML-N leader calls for calm, dialogue to ease tensions in AJK

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) PML-N leader and former member of the AJK Council, Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, has expressed deep concern over the recent situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Rawalakot, urging all stakeholders to act with restraint and responsibility. He called for immediate fresh talks.

He appealed to the public and political leadership to avoid any escalation, stressing that differences and grievances should be addressed through dialogue and mutual understanding.

In a brief talk with APP here on Tuesday, the PML-N leader emphasised that respect for law, constitution and state institutions must remain a priority, while democratic rights should be exercised in a peaceful manner that does not disrupt public order.

He called upon the AJK government and relevant authorities to initiate immediate and meaningful dialogue to restore normalcy, rebuild public confidence and promote an atmosphere of stability and harmony.

Wasi said that the current situation demands patience, wisdom and unity, urging all parties to prioritise collective interest and work towards lasting peace.
