Muharram arrangements reviewed

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi and District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Akhtar Farooq visited the Category-A Muharram procession route in Shadiwal to review arrangements ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to the official source, during the visit they inspected cleanliness, security measures, drainage, streetlights, road patchwork and other facilities along the procession route. They directed the concerned departments to complete all necessary arrangements before Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure that mourners do not face any inconvenience.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner and DPO said that the district administration was utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order, facilitate mourners and ensure the peaceful conduct of processions during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Chief Officer District Council Syed Faraz Mehdi and officers of the relevant departments were also present during the visit.
