DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) A 65-year-old man was shot dead while attempting to intervene in a family dispute that escalated into an armed clash in the Kirri Khaisour area, the police said on Tuesday.
According to a case registered at Kirri Khaisour Police Station, complainant Halima Bibi, daughter of Muhammad Amir Khan, stated that a longstanding dispute involving women-related family matters existed between her uncle Muhammad Ali and another relative named Syed Khan.
She alleged that the two parties again engaged in a heated altercation near their residence, which quickly turned violent as gunfire was exchanged.

The complainant accused Syed Khan, son of Abu Khan, along with Ramzan, Ikram, sons of Adam Khan, Saif-ur-Rehman, son of Aziz-ur-Rehman, and Ata-ur-Rehman, son of Fateh Khan, of continuing to fire their weapons during the incident.
Muhammad Amir Khan reportedly sustained gunshot wounds and fell unconscious. Family members rushed to assist him, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
