LDA seals 191 properties for illegal commercial use, fee default

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing has intensified its campaign against illegal commercial buildings and properties defaulting on commercial fee payments across the city.

During a large-scale operation conducted in various housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas, LDA teams sealed a total of 191 properties for unauthorized commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees.

The enforcement drive was carried out in Gulberg, New Garden Town, Johar Town, Canal Road, Gulshan Ravi, New Muslim Town, Allama Iqbal Town, and Sabzazar.

According to LDA spokesperson, 28 properties were sealed in Gulberg and New Garden Town, while 85 properties were sealed on Shamsani Road in Johar Town.

Another 43 properties were sealed in Canal Road, Gulshan Ravi, and New Muslim Town for illegal commercial activities and non-payment of commercial fees.

In a separate recovery operation, LDA teams sealed 35 properties in Allama Iqbal Town and Sabzazar.

The sealed properties include private schools, colleges, academies, restaurants, food outlets, beauty salons, clinics, grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacies, auto workshops, shops, offices, and other commercial establishments.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali.
