Integrating cleanliness awareness into educational curriculum pressing need of the hour: MD SSWMB.

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Managing Director, Sindh Solid Waste Management board (SSWMB) Tariq Ali Nizamani stated that integrating cleanliness awareness into the educational curriculum is a pressing need of the hour.

He was talking to Research and Development Foundation -RDF's delegation at his office here, said a statement on Tuesday.

Nizamani noted that the SSWMB is undertaking various initiatives to raise public awareness about cleanliness and the environment, adding that this message can be disseminated more effectively through partnerships with educational institutions.

Research and Development Foundation -RDF's delegation comprised Project Manager Aftab Hussain Soomro and Monitoring and Evaluation Manager Aftab Ahmed Akhund.

During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place regarding the development of an awareness curriculum related to cleanliness, environmental protection, and solid waste management, as well as the training of teachers.

The RDF delegation informed the meeting that their NGO, in collaboration with the Sindh Technical education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA), is working on various programs across Pakistan for the training and skill development of teachers and the youth.

The RDF representatives appreciated the measures taken by the SSWMB to promote cleanliness and public awareness, and expressed their interest in securing the Board's technical support for curriculum development and training programs.

They also agreed to foster mutual cooperation in the areas of environmental awareness, curriculum development, teacher training, and raising public consciousness regarding cleanliness.
