ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Monday said that the Gilgit-Baltistan elections were conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and orderly manner across the region.

Speaking to a private television channel, the minister stated that no untoward incident had been reported from any part of Gilgit-Baltistan during the electoral process.

He expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the polls and praised the efforts of the authorities in ensuring a secure environment.

He said that the political party securing the majority of seats would have the mandate to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan.

He emphasized that all political parties should play their role in strengthening the democratic and political system in the region.

Responding to a question regarding the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections, the minister expressed hope that the elections would also be held in a peaceful and transparent manner, reflecting the democratic aspirations of the people.
