District admin Abbottabad advises precautionary measures amid expected heatwave

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) The District Administration Abbottabad has advised citizens to take precautionary measures as a severe heatwave is expected in the region from June 8 to June 11, with a noticeable rise in temperature and intense heat conditions.

According to the advisory, residents are urged to avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight, particularly between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

The administration has recommended increased intake of water and fluids, as well as wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to reduce heat impact.

Special instructions have also been issued for the protection of elderly citizens and children, who are more vulnerable to extreme heat conditions.

Farmers and livestock owners have been advised to take appropriate steps to safeguard animals and ensure proper shade and cooling arrangements.

The district administration reiterated that it is closely monitoring the situation and remains fully prepared to respond to any emergency arising from the heatwave conditions.
