DI Khan administration finalizes arrangements for Muharram

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) The district administration of Dera Ismail Khan has intensified preparations to ensure peace, security, and the provision of essential facilities during Muharram-ul-Haram, with an important meeting held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Dr. Hamid Siddique.

The meeting was convened on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan and was attended by prominent representatives of the Sunni and Shia communities, custodians of imambargahs, members of the traders' community, and officials from relevant government departments.

Participants reviewed in detail the arrangements for Muharram processions and religious gatherings, focusing on security measures, sanitation, uninterrupted electricity supply, traffic management, and other administrative matters. Community representatives highlighted local issues and presented suggestions regarding Imam Bargahs and procession routes.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Hamid Siddique said that maintaining law and order and ensuring maximum facilitation for mourners remained the top priorities of the district administration. He directed all concerned departments to complete their assigned responsibilities well before the commencement of Muharram and promptly address issues on procession routes.

He emphasized that the district administration was maintaining close coordination with all schools of thought and would continue to promote inter-sect harmony, tolerance, and cooperation to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.

At the conclusion of the meeting, instructions were issued to the relevant departments for immediate action on identified issues and the timely completion of all necessary arrangements.
