DC wins appreciation for turning environmental samples negative

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abedin Memon has received an appreciation certificate and award from the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in recognition of consistently improved performance in polio eradication campaigns.

According to an official handout issued on Friday, the EOC appreciated the efforts for bringing all environmental samples from the district to a negative status, reflecting strengthened surveillance and effective field interventions.

The acknowledgment was presented during the Post-TAG Audit Seminar held at Avari Towers in Karachi.

Representatives from partner organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization (WHO), and Pakistan Red Crescent Society, also commended the overall performance of districts within the Karachi Block.

The participants appreciated the collective efforts of the field teams and district administration in strengthening routine immunization and advancing polio eradication efforts across the region.
