ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram has said that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of the district administration, as he chaired a meeting to review relief cases under the District Disaster Management Unit (DDMU).
The meeting was held in Abbottabad to assess compensation cases related to recent natural disasters, including damage to houses, loss of life and property, and livestock losses. A total of eight relief cases were presented before the committee for detailed consideration.
During the review, five cases were approved unanimously, while three cases were referred back to the concerned departments for further verification and re-examination to ensure transparency and merit-based decision-making.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed that all affected individuals should be provided timely relief and assistance in accordance with government policy and prescribed rules, ensuring swift resolution of their grievances.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief & Human Rights), representatives of the Health Department, Communications and Works Department (C&W), education Department, District Police, and other relevant departments. Participants also shared recommendations to further improve the effectiveness of relief operations.
