CTO Sarfraz Virk issues directives to improve traffic flow during rush hours

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk chaired an important meeting to review traffic management arrangements and issued special directives aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow during rush hours across the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Monday that SP Traffic and zonal DSPs attended the meeting, where various measures were discussed to improve traffic movement and public facilitation.

CTO Virk directed officers to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow during peak hours and take proactive measures to minimize congestion on major roads and intersections.

Virk instructed field officers to provide citizens with timely information regarding alternate routes whenever traffic pressure increased on key corridors.

The CTO also directed officers to take strict legal action against violators of traffic laws to maintain discipline and road safety across the city.

Field officers were asked to ensure an effective and well-organized traffic management system through active monitoring and timely response to traffic-related issues.

Virk emphasized that public convenience and smooth traffic flow remained among the top priorities of Islamabad Traffic Police and directed all officers to perform their duties with professionalism and commitment.
