LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, has completed comprehensive arrangements for the reception and facilitation of Indian Sikh pilgrims arriving in Pakistan to participate in two major religious events scheduled this month.
According to a ETPB spokesperson, the arrangements have been made for the observance of the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji (Jor Mela) and the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Special measures have been taken to ensure the pilgrims’ comfortable stay and smooth performance of religious rituals during their visit.
The spokesperson added that all necessary arrangements, including security, transportation, accommodation, medical assistance and langar services, have been finalised on the directions of ETPB Chairman Qamar-uz-Zaman. The arrangements have been supervised by Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq.
Under the schedule, Indian Sikh pilgrims participating in the Guru Arjan Dev Ji martyrdom anniversary celebrations will arrive in Pakistan through the Wagah Border on June 10. They will first visit Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib and other historic Sikh shrines in Nankana Sahib before proceeding to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Farooqabad and Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal.
The pilgrims will subsequently visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal and Gurdwara Rohri Sahib in Eminabad, Gujranwala.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>They are scheduled to reach Lahore on June 15. The main ceremony marking the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji will be held at Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on June 16. Following visits to other historic gurdwaras in Lahore, the pilgrims will return to India via the Wagah Border on June 19.
Meanwhile, another group of Indian Sikh pilgrims is expected to arrive in Pakistan on June 21 to participate in the commemorative events marking the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The main ceremony in this regard will be held at Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on June 29.
Under the Pakistan-India Religious Pilgrimage Protocol, up to 1,000 visas are issued annually for Indian Sikh pilgrims attending the Guru Arjan Dev Ji martyrdom anniversary celebrations, while 500 visas are allocated for pilgrims participating in the Maharaja Ranjit Singh death anniversary events.
Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq said the ETPB considered hosting Sikh pilgrims both a responsibility and an honour. He said the board had made the best possible arrangements for Sikh pilgrims arriving from India and other countries and would ensure that they were provided all necessary facilities during the performance of their religious obligations.
