LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Marryam Khan on Saturday chaired a divisional meeting to review the progress of development schemes, beautification projects, performance indicators and desilting operations across the division.
The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners of all four districts of Lahore Division, who briefed the commissioner on ongoing development projects and schemes scheduled for completion by June 30.
During the briefing, officials informed the meeting that Phase-I of the Lahore Development Plan had been completed, while work on Phase-II was nearing completion. They also apprised the commissioner that desilting operations were under way in all drains of Lahore as well as district flood channels through coordinated efforts of the Irrigation Department and district administrations.
The commissioner conducted a detailed review of desilting operations, including work being carried out in Lahore’s major drains and Nullah Dek, to ensure preparedness ahead of the monsoon season.

She said beautification projects being executed under the programme would be completed by June 30 and their progress was being monitored on a daily basis.
She emphasized that development works in every tehsil should be completed according to timelines and prescribed quality standards. The commissioner said revenue administration and municipal service delivery carried equal importance in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
She further directed deputy commissioners to formulate a coordinated strategy at the district level for effective collaboration among various government agencies and authorities to ensure smooth implementation of development initiatives.
