Ali Dar, Italian envoy discuss investment, technology cooperation

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Ali Dar on Monday

held a farewell meeting with Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Marilina Armellin, during which both sides

discussed bilateral relations, investment, modern technology, education, youth opportunities and

international cooperation.

Talking on the occasion, Ali Dar said that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz

Sharif, the province was being transformed into a regional hub for investment, innovation, artificial

intelligence and emerging technologies. He added that the Punjab government remained committed

to expanding international partnerships and promoting cooperation in advanced technologies to meet

the requirements of the modern era.

He said relations between Pakistan and Italy were based on mutual respect, friendship and cooperation,

and acknowledged Ambassador Armellin’s contribution to strengthening ties between the two countries.

He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation in trade, education and technology would continue

to expand in the years ahead.

Ali Dar further said that Punjab offered significant opportunities for international investors and development partners. He noted that enhanced global cooperation could create new avenues for education, employment

and skills development for the youth. He also conveyed best wishes from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz

Sharif to the Italian ambassador for her future responsibilities and continued success.

Ambassador Marilina Armellin appreciated the Punjab government’s development initiatives and reform

measures. She also expressed her best wishes for the speedy recovery and good health of Chief Minister

Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
