Abbottabad to face severe heat wave from June 8 to 11; administration issues advisory

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) The District Administration Abbottabad has issued a heat wave advisory warning of a significant rise in temperature and intensified heat conditions expected across the district from June 8 to June 11, in line with similar weather patterns forecast for other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the advisory, the district administration has already issued advance instructions to all concerned departments to ensure timely preventive and safety measures in order to minimize the possible impacts of the extreme weather conditions.

The administration has urged citizens to adopt precautionary measures during the heat wave period, particularly advising the public to avoid direct exposure to sunlight between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, when heat intensity is expected to remain at its peak.

Residents have also been advised to increase their intake of water and other fluids to stay properly hydrated, wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and take special care of elderly individuals and children, who are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.

Farmers and livestock owners have further been instructed to ensure adequate arrangements for the protection of animals and to take necessary steps to safeguard them from heat stress.
