Abbottabad administration completes demarcation of Jub Nullah to prevent encroachments

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram, Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Afrasiab Zubair Handal, along with revenue staff, carried out the joint demarcation of Jub Nullah located along PMA Road in Hassan Town.

Officials from the Cantonment board Abbottabad, the Irrigation Department, local elders, and relevant revenue authorities also participated in the exercise.

According to officials, a detailed joint survey and verification of official records was conducted, after which the original boundaries and width of the nullah were successfully identified. The purpose of the exercise was to ensure the protection of state land and the natural watercourse.

The Assistant Commissioner directed the Irrigation Department to strictly maintain the original width of the nullah and to construct a retaining wall in accordance with the demarcated boundaries. This step aims to prevent encroachments, safeguard the natural flow of water, and protect public property.

The district administration stated that it remains committed to protecting government land, water channels, and public assets through effective measures. It emphasized that such initiatives are essential to control encroachments and address flash flood and drainage-related issues on a priority basis.
