13 citizens get Rs21.2 million in arrears after Ombudsman Punjab’s Intervention

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has successfully resolved a longstanding issue involving pending financial dues of 13 citizens, securing payments exceeding Rs21.2 million within a period of just three months.

The spokesman for the Ombudsman Punjab said that dues were related to OSD (Officer on Special Duty) posts and had remained unpaid despite repeated efforts by the affected individuals to obtain relief from the relevant government departments.

The citizens subsequently approached the Ombudsman Punjab, seeking redressal of their grievances.

Taking prompt notice of the matter, the Ombudsman Punjab directed the departments concerned to settle the outstanding claims. As a result, arrears amounting to over Rs21.2 million were disbursed to the 13 complainants.

In addition to the financial relief provided, the Ombudsman Punjab’s intervention also led to the appointment of three complainants to their jobs under Section 17-A, ensuring the protection of their legal rights and employment benefits.

The complainants appreciated the timely resolution of their complaints and thanked the Ombudsman Punjab for her effective intervention.
